Biography

Graeme Milligan is the Gardiner Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Glasgow, where he leads research efforts focused on G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and their interacting proteins. He has significant experience in translating research knowledge into drug development, particularly in the identification of small molecule regulators of these proteins. Milligan has authored over 550 peer-reviewed articles that have collectively received more than 35,000 citations. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1998 and as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2016. Milligan is a co-founder of Caldan Therapeutics, which focuses on innovative therapeutics for metabolic diseases, and Keltic Pharma Therapeutics, which develops treatments for malaria. Milligan has received several prestigious awards for his contributions to pharmacology, including the Poulsson Medal and the Ariens Medal.
