Biography

Graham Cole is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London's National Heart & Lung Institute, specializing in cardiology. His main research interests focus on the rational use of cardiac imaging for clinical research purposes. He completed his undergraduate training at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, where he achieved Class Honours in Natural Sciences (Pathology) and was awarded the Roger Morris Prize in Surgery during his clinical finals. Following this, he underwent postgraduate training at Hammersmith, Charing Cross, and Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals, and was appointed to the North-West London training program in Cardiology in 2008. He undertook a British Heart Foundation-funded PhD under Professor Darrel Francis, focusing on high-precision quantification of cardiac function. He also completed fellowships in cardiac MRI at UCL/Barts and cardiac CT at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals. Cole has been a Consultant Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial since 2018, where he is accredited in heart failure imaging and serves as a high-volume CMR reporter, leading the Cardiac MRI provision in key areas including cardiomyopathy, heart failure, myocarditis, and coronary artery disease.
