Biography

Graham Davies is a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy & Therapeutics at King's College London, where he has established and led the Clinical Practice Medicines Use Group from 2007 to 2015. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles and conference abstracts throughout his career. His research interests center on identifying and managing medicines-related harm in the elderly, which has attracted grants from the Guy's and St Thomas' Charity and the NIHR. In addition, he serves as the co-director of the Centre for Adherence Research Education (CARE), a King's Health Partners initiative aimed at tackling the issue of medicines non-adherence through the provision of educational tools and support for better adherence. Over the years, he has played a crucial role in the strategic development of pharmacy education, holding key positions such as MPharm Course Director at King's College and Pharmacy Education Lead for the Pharmaceutical Science Clinical Academic Group. He has also contributed significantly as the pharmacy work stream lead within the South London Health & Innovation Education Cluster. His efforts were pivotal in establishing a novel postgraduate workplace Diploma for hospital pharmacists as part of a joint programmes initiative in southeast England. Professor Davies has extensive experience, having worked for ten years as a clinical pharmacist in various specialist areas, and served as Deputy Director of Pharmacy at the London Hospital. He has also advised the London South East Regional Health Authority for fifteen years on the development of Clinical Pharmacy Services. He has been recognized for his contributions, being made a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 2009 and becoming a Faculty Fellow in 2013, as well as an Honorary Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Pharmacy in 2011.
