Dr. Graham Murray

Biography

Professor Graham Murray is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, where he also serves as an Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist. He leads the early intervention in psychosis service, CAMEO, which is part of the Cambridgeshire Peterborough NHS Trust. His academic journey began with studying Physics and Philosophy at Oxford University, followed by Medicine at King's College London. He completed postgraduate psychiatric training in Cambridge and Suffolk, as well as research training at the University of Oulu in Finland. Professor Murray's research primarily focuses on the causes, mechanisms, and treatment of mental illness, particularly psychosis and depression. His work employs a range of research methodologies through epidemiology, neuroscience, computational psychiatry, genomics, and clinical trials. He plays a pivotal role in leading significant projects, including the early psychosis workstream of the NIHR Translational Research Collaboration and other initiatives aimed at enhancing the UK mental health translational research infrastructure. He is also involved in PhD supervision and offers consultancy services.
