Biography

J. Graham Thomas, PhD, is a Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Brown Alpert Medical School and the Weight Control & Diabetes Research Center at The Miriam Hospital. His research is centered on the use of digital health technology and engineering-inspired methodologies for optimizing treatment delivery and improving health behaviors, with a particular focus on obesity. He has been awarded multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health to advance research in mobile technologies for weight loss and health behavior interventions. Professor Thomas is also involved in community-engaged research focused on the dissemination of validated treatment approaches in clinical care settings. He serves as Chair of the eHealth/mHealth Section of the Obesity Society and as a research mentor at Brown University's Clinical Psychology Training Consortium, directing research training on cardiovascular behavioral medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Thomas has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and contributed to pivotal studies aimed at advancing the field of behavioral obesity treatment.
