Biography

Grant Creaney graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours) in July 2015 and completed the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow in 2016. He has worked in the fields of dentistry both in Scotland and abroad. Grant joined the University of Glasgow as a Clinical Lecturer in Dental Public Health in November 2020. Concurrently, he is undertaking Dental Public Health Specialty Training as an Honorary Specialty Registrar with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and NHS Forth Valley Health Boards in Scotland. He is completing his PhD research on Health Systems Factors in Advanced Stage Diagnosis of Head and Neck Cancers in South America and Europe, part of the EU Horizon 2020-funded HEADSpAcE project, expected to conclude in early 2025. Grant has also completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) in August 2025. His research interests primarily include mixed-methods approaches in the fields of head and neck cancer and child oral health. He provides teaching to undergraduate dental students and students undertaking the Oral Health module in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program, with broad teaching interests encompassing public health, oral health inequalities, health systems, and head and neck cancer.
