Greg Grandin received his doctorate from Yale University under the direction of Emilia Viotti da Costa and Gilbert Joseph. He has taught at New York University for nineteen years and is the author of seven books, including 'Blood of Guatemala', which won the Latin American Studies Association’s Bryce Wood Award. His notable works include 'Colonial Massacre', 'Empire’s Workshop', and 'Fordlandia', which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. Grandin is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Society of American Historians. He co-edited 'A Century of Revolution' with Gil Joseph, Deborah Levenson, and Elizabeth Oglesby, as well as 'The Guatemala Reader'. His work has been published widely in venues such as 'The Nation', 'The London Review of Books', 'The New Republic', and 'NACLA’s Report on the Americas'. He is a regular guest on 'Democracy Now!'.
