Dr. Greg Harris

Biography

Greg Harris is a Professor at the Faculty of Education of Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he specializes in Counseling Psychology. He is also cross-appointed at the University Counseling Centre in the Department of Psychology. As a registered psychologist in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, his theoretical approach to counseling is eclectic, heavily emphasizing experiential models. He has extensive teaching experience at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, having taught various courses including ethics and legal issues, individual and group counseling, assessment of intelligence, nature of adolescence, and stress management. His research interests are centered on HIV prevention, understanding and mitigating risk behaviors, and the therapeutic applications of positive psychology, particularly in K-12 educational contexts. Actively engaged in several research projects, he invites interested individuals to reach out via email for potential collaboration.
