Biography

Greg Inwood is a Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Toronto Metropolitan University. He completed his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Toronto and holds an M.A. in Political Science and an Honours B.A. in History from the University of Western Ontario. Since joining the faculty in 1998, he achieved the rank of full Professor in 2007. His teaching includes courses on Canadian federalism, intergovernmental relations, political economy, Canadian-American relations, and public administration. His research interests span Canadian federalism, Canadian political economy, public administration, and trade policy. In 2006, he was awarded the Donald Smiley Prize by the Canadian Political Science Association for his book, "Continentalizing Canada: Politics Legacy Macdonald Royal Commission". He has authored significant works in the field of Canadian public administration, including the forthcoming fifth edition of "Understanding Canadian Public Administration: Introduction Theory Practice". Inwood has also contributed to the establishment of joint educational initiatives with Penn State University, enhancing cross-border academic cooperation on Canadian-American political relations. His familial heritage includes connections to early French and English settlers in Canada, as well as Scottish merchants involved in the establishment of the parliamentary system in Lower Canada.
