Biography

Greg Skrzypek has extensive experience in stable isotope ecology and hydrochemistry. He has published numerous papers applying stable isotope techniques in ecological, hydrochemical, and paleoclimate studies. His research utilizes stable hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, and strontium isotopes to trace trophic positions and nutrient water fluxes in natural environments, as well as the dispersal of pollutants in environments impacted by mining and agriculture. Greg contributed to establishing hydrochemical baselines in the Pilbara region, a major iron ore mining area. He held prestigious positions such as the Australian Research Council Future Fellowship at the University of Western Australia and the Foundation Polish Science Scholarship at the University of Wrocław. Currently, he serves as the deputy director of the West Australian Biogeochemistry Centre at UWA, acting as a chief investigator on several research projects in Europe and Australia, and represents Australia at the International Atomic Energy Agency.
