Biography

Greg Slater is a Professor in the School of Earth, Environment and Society and an Associate Member of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at McMaster University. He directs the Environmental Organic Geochemistry Laboratory, where he studies the chemical processes that govern organic matter in the environment. Slater completed his undergraduate degree in Environmental Chemistry and went on to earn a PhD in Geology from the University of Toronto. His research focuses on Astrobiology, Geochemistry, Isotope Geochemistry, and Organic Geochemistry. He has previously served as an Associate Member in the Physical Environmental Sciences department at the University of Toronto Scarborough from 2014 to 2019.
