Biography

Gregers Andersen's research broadly situates within environmental humanities, examining sustainable and unsustainable futures envisioned through a range of communicative forms. His work stretches into future speculative worlds in literary and cinematic fictions, often termed 'cli-fi,' showcasing how sustainable and unsustainable futures are imagined and described by political parties, municipalities, companies, and media organizations. Through this research, he aims to reveal how both aesthetic and non-aesthetic forms of communication can shed new light on human and non-human conditions in the Anthropocene. He holds a doctoral degree in arts and cultural studies from the University of Copenhagen and has subsequently held postdoctoral positions at both the University of Copenhagen and Stockholm University. His teaching portfolio includes supervising a broad spectrum of courses in communication studies and climate psychology, contributing significantly towards advancing the understanding of communication in relation to sustainability.
