Biography

Gregory Anton Lodygensky is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Montreal, specializing in the neurological trajectories of newborns at risk for brain injuries. His research focuses on improving acute brain monitoring, identifying neural disruptors, and introducing neuroprotective strategies during the neonatal period. In his foundational research laboratory, Lodygensky engages in quantifying lesion loads and assessing the efficacy of neuroprotective therapies using multimodal MRI and novel optical techniques in rodents, alongside histological, biochemical, and behavioral studies. Measured progress in neonatal neuroimaging research is largely facilitated by the Canadian Neonatal Brain Platform, initiated in September 2015, bringing together over 30 collaborators to enhance neonatal clinical research. His academic involvement includes supervision of doctoral candidates and leadership on several funded research projects addressing neuroprotective treatments and developmental impacts of prenatal exposures. His contributions to pediatric neuroscience are recognized through numerous awards and research fellowships, aimed at enhancing the understanding and treatment of neonatal neurological conditions.
