Biography

Greta Francis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. She received her B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh and completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Virginia Tech, followed by a predoctoral internship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After finishing her NRSA postdoctoral fellowship in Pittsburgh, she joined the faculty at Bradley Hospital and subsequently at Brown University. Dr. Francis's research primarily focuses on childhood anxiety disorders and the factors associated with school-based treatment of youth psychiatric disorders. Her scholarly work includes significant contributions to the Encyclopedia of Pediatric Child Psychology and various publications regarding selective mutism and cognitive-behavioral interventions for anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. In her teaching roles, Dr. Francis coordinates the clinical child psychology internship program and supervises clinical psychology interns, with teaching interests that include childhood obsessive-compulsive disorder and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She also conducts annual seminar series for child psychiatry fellows.
