Biography

Griffin Fish is a research engineer in the Structural Engineering Materials Laboratory at Georgia Tech, working under the leadership of Dr. Lauren Stewart. He holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech, where he conducted hands-on research on ultra-high performance concrete, particularly with closure pours connecting precast bridge decks. Following his graduation, Griffin gained 2.5 years of experience as a structural design engineer at an award-winning Atlanta-based engineering firm, becoming actively involved with the American Concrete Institute (ACI). In 2024, he returned to Georgia Tech to become a leading member of the research team in the Structural Engineering Materials Laboratory. Griffin has advanced skills in test setup, experimental design, steel fabrication, instrumentation, and project/team management. His research interests include the behavior of civil structures under blast loads, curved folded sheet metal structures, and the welding and fabrication of steel with ultra-high performance concrete.
