Biography

Grigory Rogachev specializes in low energy experimental nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics. His research focuses on the structure of light to medium mass nuclei, particularly the structure of exotic neutron-rich and neutron-deficient isotopes, clustering phenomena in nuclei, and mechanisms of nuclear reactions. He also investigates applications of nuclear physics methods for determining rates of nuclear reactions that drive nucleosynthesis and energy generation in stellar environments. Rogachev graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (State University) in 1996 with a Master of Science degree in Experimental Nuclear Physics. He received his Ph.D. in 1999 from the National Research Center 'Kurchatov Institute' where he worked as a Research Assistant. From 2000 to 2004, he was associated with the University of Notre Dame, serving as a Research Associate and later as Research Assistant Professor. In the summer of 2004, Rogachev joined the Department of Physics at Florida State University as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2010. In 2013, he joined the faculty in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Cyclotron Institute at Texas A&M University.
