Biography

Grit Walther is a Professor at RWTH Aachen University, leading the Chair of Operations Management in the School of Business and Economics since September 2012. She received her PhD from the Institute of Production and Logistics at Technische Universität Braunschweig in 2004. Prior to her tenure at RWTH Aachen, she was the head of the Chair of Production Logistics at Bergische Universität Wuppertal from 2010 to 2012. Her research interests are centered around application-oriented, techno-economic modeling and evaluation of logistics production systems and supply chains. Walther has founded and led the working group on Sustainable Supply Chains at TU Braunschweig from 2004 to 2010. Her work encompasses various areas including market diffusion of new drive train technologies in the automotive industry, network and infrastructure planning for alternative fuels, and planning for sustainable mobility systems. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams of research institutes and industrial companies to advance her research projects.
