Biography

Guangyu Qiao-Franco is an Assistant Professor in International Relations at Radboud University, where he is part of the Department of Political Science within the Nijmegen School of Management. He has a strong academic background, holding a BA and MA from Fudan University and a PhD from the University of Melbourne. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, China Studies, ASEAN Studies, and International Organizations, with a focus on the development of international norms in relation to military applications of AI technologies. He is actively involved in several research projects, including the Dutch government-funded project on China's Export Control Strategy and the ERC-funded project AutoNorms, which studies the impact of weaponized AI on international norms. His recent publications include articles in prominent journals like International Affairs and Contemporary China, as well as a book on UN-ASEAN coordination. He is also an Honorary Senior Researcher for the AutoNorms project at the University of Southern Denmark and serves on the Advisory Board of the Leiden Asia Centre.
