Biography

Guilherme Nothen is a Teaching Fellow at the Moray House School of Education and Sport at the University of Edinburgh, having joined in November 2023. He completed his PhD at the University of Toronto in 2019. His previous academic appointments include roles at the University of Reading and the Federal Institute of Brasilia in Brazil, as well as a visiting semester at Loughborough University. Nothen has a strong focus on the intersections of sports and politics and contributes to the field of sociology of sport. He is also involved in physical education pedagogy and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to sport management and culture. He has experience serving as a contributing section editor for the journal Movimento and acted as the program director for the BSc (Hons) Sport Management program.
