Guillaume Duclaux is currently an Associate Professor at Université Côte d'Azur, Nice, France, specializing in tectonics. He studied geosciences at Ecole Normale Supérieure Lyon and obtained his PhD in tectonics from the University of Saint Etienne, France, in collaboration with the University of Sydney, Australia in 2007. His research focuses on the mechanical behavior of Precambrian orogens. After graduating, Guillaume worked as a research scientist at CSIRO Australia for seven years, applying his skills in structural geology, computational tectonics, and surface processes modeling to develop new solutions for mineral exploration problems. In 2014, he joined the Geodynamics Group at the University of Bergen in Norway as a research fellow to study continental rift dynamics, before moving back to France in 2017. He has served as a senior geoscientist consultant for large mining companies in Australia and Africa, assisting exploration geologists by combining geological, geochemical, and geophysical data, as well as testing exploration models with cutting-edge numerical modeling methods.
