Biography

Guillaume Tiberghien completed his PhD degree in Tourism from Auckland University of Technology and holds a Master's degree in International Relations from University Paris-Est Marne la Vallée and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Kedge Business School, France. With 20 years of experience in researching and teaching Heritage and Sustainable Tourism subjects in an international context, he has been a key figure in developing and leading programs in sustainable tourism. In 2017, he took on the role of programme leader for the triple-accredited Master's degree 'Management of Sustainable Tourism' at the Adam Smith Business School. He served as the associate programme leader for launching and developing the undergraduate Tourism and Hospitality programme at KIMEP University in Kazakhstan from 2008 to 2012. His teaching and research activities primarily focus on the relationships between Cultural Heritage Tourism and Sustainable Tourism Development, as well as Tourism Marketing. Throughout his career, Guillaume has conducted and participated in various consulting projects across Central Asia, New Zealand, and the UK, addressing themes of Tourism Planning and Sustainable Development, Visitor Experience, and the commodification of cultures.
