Biography

Guillem Colom-Montero is a Senior Lecturer in Hispanic Studies at the University of Glasgow, where he has been since July 2019. He holds a BA in English Studies from the University of the Balearic Islands (2009) and a PhD in Hispanic Studies from Bangor University (2016). Previously, he worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Bangor from 2010 to 2015 and served as a Lecturer in Hispanic Studies at the University of Exeter from September 2017 to June 2019. He has also been a Visiting Lecturer in Catalan Studies at the University of Birmingham during the 2016-2017 academic year. His research interests include Literary and Cultural Representations, Postcolonial and Decolonial Critiques, and Environmental Humanities, among others. He is the co-director of the research lab 'Discourses of Sustainability' and is actively involved in community engagement events focused on tourism and its impacts on local cultures. Colom-Montero has published extensively and is engaged in various editorial boards, highlighting his active role in advancing the field of Hispanic Studies and Catalan culture.
