Biography

Guillermo Aguilar is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, where he also serves as the Department Head. He has a rich academic background with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara obtained in 1999, a Master’s degree in the same field from the same institution in 1995, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineering from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 1993. Professor Aguilar's research interests include droplet deposition, thermodynamics, heat transfer induced atomized sprays, laser-tissue interactions, thermal mechanical processes, biomedical optics, medical laser applications including laser-assisted cryosurgery and photopneumatic therapy, and laser processing of biomedical materials. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his academic contributions, including being named a Fellow of prominent organizations such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
