Gul N. Khan is a Professor in the Department of Electrical, Computer, Biomedical Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University. He graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore in 1979, and earned his M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University in 1982. Dr. Khan has extensive research experience, having worked as a research associate at Arizona State University, and at the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, where he completed his Ph.D. in 1989. He has held positions at RMIT University in Melbourne and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. In 2000, he moved to Canada and became an Associate Professor in computer engineering at the University of Saskatchewan before joining Toronto Metropolitan University in 2015. Dr. Khan has served as Program Director for Computer Engineering from 2004 to 2015 and has authored or edited the book “Embedded Networking Systems: Design, Software Implementation” alongside publishing over 100 refereed papers in various journals and conferences. His research interests lie in embedded systems and encompass hardware/software codesign, Multiprocessor System-on-Chip (MPSoC), Network-on-Chip (NoC), heterogeneous computer systems, CPU-GPU GPGPU systems, fault-tolerant systems, high performance computing, and computer vision multimedia systems.
