Biography

Gunnar Gillberg is an Associate Professor in Work Science at the University of Gothenburg. He obtained his PhD in Work Science from the same university in 2010. Since 1996, he has been involved in higher education, primarily focusing on individualization processes relevant to the identity, ideas, and constraints surrounding young adults' labor market opportunities. His teaching includes qualitative methods and various courses in Work Science. He plays a significant role in the master's program in Work Science and has a strong background in educational development. Gunnar's research interests are rooted in a critical realist perspective and examine the relationship between young adults' beliefs about work and life in the context of structural conditions that enable or limit opportunities and resource mobilization. He has supervised postgraduate coursework and led several projects addressing social change and individual and collective progress in work environments.
