Clay (Guoyu) Chu is a Lecturer and Senior Research Associate in the Energy Systems at the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, UNSW Sydney. His research focuses on the decarbonization of energy systems through innovative technologies in advanced electric drive and energy conversion. He was awarded the prestigious Australian Research Council's Early Career Industry Fellowship and the Malcolm Chaikin Prize for Research Excellence in Engineering in 2023. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Automation at Shandong University of Science and Technology in 2014 and earned his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from UNSW Sydney in 2016. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and has received the Dean's Award for Outstanding PhD Theses in 2021.
