Biography

Gurpreet Singh Gill was born in India and received his B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in Electronics Communication Engineering from Punjab Technical University and Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Punjab, India, in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in the Microelectronics Research Group within the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering at the University of Western Australia (UWA), Perth, in 2022. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Research Associate, leading research activities in the area of Micro and Nano Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS/NEMS). His current research involves thin-film materials mechanics, optical MEMS, and optoelectronic devices for infrared sensing and imaging applications. Previously, he worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute in Pilani, India, which is a pioneering research lab under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, where he primarily focused on MEMS/NEMS applications. Over the last five years, he has been actively collaborating in various research areas and has an h-index of 46 with significant citations in his field.
