Biography

Gustavo M. Silva is an academic currently serving as the Jack H. Neely Associate Professor of Biology at Duke University. His research focuses on the underlying mechanisms of gene expression, particularly how these processes are regulated at both transcriptional and translational levels in response to stress. His investigations are particularly centered on the role of ubiquitin, a small protein modifier, in controlling the dynamics of protein synthesis and degradation under stress conditions.
