Gustavo Joaquin Turiaci obtained his Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2018, focusing on quantum gravity field theory and the quantum aspects of black holes and cosmology. His research addresses holography, quantum chaos, and the connection between gravity and quantum mechanics, particularly near-extremal black holes. Before joining the University of Washington, he was a member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and a Fundamental Physics Fellow at UC Santa Barbara. His undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina. Turiaci has been recognized with the Department of Energy Early Career Award in 2025 and the Frontiers in Science Award for Theoretical Physics in 2024. He is actively involved in teaching courses on Electromagnetism and Selected Topics in Theoretical Physics.
