Professor Dr. Guy Grossman

Biography

Guy Grossman is a David M. Knott Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania. His research primarily focuses on applied political economy, with a substantive emphasis on governance, migration, forced displacement, human trafficking, and conflict processes, particularly in the context of developing countries. Grossman is the founder and co-director of Penn's Development Research Initiative (PDRI-DevLab), launched in 2020, which aims to foster impactful international development research by bringing together faculty and graduate students at Penn to address the challenges faced by low- and middle-income countries. His work has been published in prestigious journals including Science magazine, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Science Advances, and the American Political Science Review, among others. Grossman holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University, an MA in Political Philosophy from Tel-Aviv University, and an LLB in Law from Tel-Aviv University, graduating with distinction.
