Biography

Guy Nordenson is a structural engineer and professor of architecture. He has been engaged in climate adaptation and flood hazards mitigation research since 2007 and has been active on numerous committees and task forces aimed at improving resilience in New York City. He served as the Commissioner and Secretary for the New York City Public Design Commission from 2006 to 2015 and was a member of the NYC Panel on Climate Change from 2013 to 2020. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Additionally, he is associated with the High Meadows Environmental Institute and is affiliated with the Center of Biocomplexity, as well as Princeton’s Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment, and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
