Guy Pelletier is a retired clinical health psychologist who holds a casual position in the Department of Psychosocial and Rehabilitation Oncology at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre (TBCC). He is also an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Oncology and Division of Psychosocial Oncology at the University of Calgary. His research primarily focuses on issues related to the mental health and quality of life of cancer patients. He is a member of the Health Research Ethics Board of Alberta Cancer Care (HREBA.CC). Currently, Dr. Pelletier conducts research in two separate domains: cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI) and identity in cancer. He and his colleague are starting a project on CRCI in young adults with non-CNS cancers, including a retrospective survey to determine the prevalence of memory and concentration problems in this population and their relationship to reports of anxiety, depression, and sleep problems. Additionally, he is finishing a paper on identity processing styles and quality of life in head and neck cancer patients, which examines how different identity processing styles affect their quality of life, anxiety, depression, and body image.
