Biography

Guy Rousseau is the deputy director of fundamental research at the Sacré-Cœur Hospital Research Center in Montreal and has received grants from the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Apoptosis and his research focuses on the beneficial effects of omega-3 fatty acids and their metabolites in myocardial infarction. His team has developed a model to study post-infarction depression, observing cell death in the brain linked to inflammation. By reducing inflammation through various means, including the administration of probiotics, an alleviation of depression symptoms has been noted.
