Biography

Gwendoline Bossert began her studies at the University of Fribourg, pursuing a bachelor's degree in philosophy and history. Afterward, she moved to Belgium to complete her research master's, specializing in political philosophy and ethics at KU Leuven. Upon returning to Fribourg, she joined the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Humanities in February 2025 to undertake her doctoral thesis. Her aim is to focus her research on direct democracy in relation to ecological issues. She is particularly interested in the normative value of responsibility within democracy and its connection to ecological concerns.
