Biography

H. Dharma Kwon is an Associate Professor in Business Administration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds two Ph.D. degrees: one in Management, Operations Research from UCLA Anderson School of Management, University of California at Los Angeles, obtained in 2008, and another in Physics, Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics from Brown University, completed in 1995. Kwon has a Bachelor of Science degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude in Physics from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1991. His research interests predominantly lie in Game Theory, particularly focusing on free-rider problems and stochastic dynamic games, along with Decision Analysis and Operations Research methodologies, including Bayesian sequential decisions and real options. Kwon has held multiple positions, including being a Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University from 2018 to 2019. His academic contributions include numerous publications in leading journals. He is also actively involved in editorial roles, serving as an Associate Editor for Management Science and on the editorial board of Decision Analysis. Throughout his career at the University of Illinois, Kwon has received recognition for his teaching excellence and has been a recipient of the Robert Karen Faculty Fellow award since 2018.
