H. Vincent Poor is the Michael Henry Strater University Professor at Princeton University, where his current research is focused on advances in fields of rapid technology development, notably in wireless networks and energy systems. He has made significant contributions to the fundamentals underlying information theory and stochastic analysis in machine learning. With the dramatic increase in demand for new capacity and higher performance, he addresses major issues in the design and deployment of wireless networks. His recent work has explored techniques such as spectrum sharing, semantic communications, and the incorporation of artificial intelligence in wireless network design and operation. He is also examining the fundamental limits of new wireless paradigms, including information-theoretic analyses related to high-reliability, low-latency communications and the use of wireless networks as platforms for machine learning. Additionally, Poor collaborates with colleagues in the life sciences to improve models for the spread of epidemics and develop optimal control mechanisms to manage such spreads.
GRE scores are not accepted. Ph.D. is the primary degree; students are not required to hold an M.S.E. prior to admission.
