Biography

Ha Nguyen received a BEng degree from Hanoi University of Technology in 1995, an MEng degree from the Asian Institute of Technology in 1997, and a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 2001. He joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada, in 2001, and became a full Professor in 2007. Throughout his career, Professor Nguyen held the NSERC/Cisco Industrial Research Chair in Low-Power Wireless Access Sensor Networks. His research interests encompass a broad range of areas including Communication Theory, Wireless Communications, and Statistical Signal Processing. He served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and IEEE Wireless Communications Letters and was involved in multiple capacities at IEEE Vehicular Technology Conferences, including co-chairing tracks focused on Multiple Antenna Systems and Wireless Access. Nguyen co-authored the textbook "A Course in Digital Communications" published by Cambridge University Press and was appointed as a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada. He was also a registered member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.
