Dr. Hai Li

Biography

Hai Li is the Marie Foote Reel E’46 Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University. He received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2004. His research interests encompass a range of topics including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Hardware and Software design, and Trustworthy Computing. He has received several prestigious honors including being named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Dr. Li has contributed to numerous significant publications and has received accolades for his work in neuromorphic computing systems, demonstrating a commitment to advancing the field of electrical and computer engineering. In addition to his research, he is actively involved in teaching and mentoring students at Duke University, and his courses cover subjects such as machine learning and computer systems engineering. His leadership roles have allowed him to influence academic advancements within his department and beyond, focusing on innovative computing technologies and their practical applications.
