Biography

Haiqing Xu is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in applied and theoretical econometrics. He earned a B.A. in Management from Peking University, China in 2000, an M.S. in Economics in 2005, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Pennsylvania State University in 2011. His research focuses on identification and estimation of non-separable models involving discrete endogenous variables, large discrete games, and asymmetric information. Additionally, he applies his expertise to policy evaluation and structural industrial organization, as well as social interactions. Xu's teaching contributions include courses such as Introduction to Econometrics and several advanced econometrics classes titled ECO 441K and others offered during the academic year. He is known for engaging students in theoretical and empirical analysis, and continually seeks to integrate real-world applications into his curriculum.
