Dr. Haiyan Jiang

Biography

Haiyan Jiang is an Associate Professor at Macquarie University Business School, specializing in international accounting with a focus on financial reporting quality, capital markets, and governance issues. His research delves into the effects of changing regulations and unique institutional settings on corporate reporting, information quality, and auditing practices. Haiyan has published extensively in top-tier accounting journals, including the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Horizons, Journal of International Accounting Research, Abacus, European Accounting Review, and the British Accounting Review. He has received numerous international research awards and grants, highlighting his contributions to the field. With a passion for higher degree research supervision, Haiyan actively mentors postgraduate students. He is also involved with editorial boards for international accounting journals. Prior to his tenure at Macquarie University, he taught at universities in New Zealand and has a practical background in the industry before transitioning to academia.
