Biography

Haizheng Li received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado–Boulder and joined the Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Economics faculty in 1997. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2004 and to Professor in 2010. His research specializes in applied econometrics, labor economics, and the Chinese economy. Li has published extensively in journals, books, and technical reports, and has received numerous research grants from national and international agencies. He has served as a consultant for the World Bank and as a special research fellow for various institutes. Furthermore, he is a member of the Advisory Board of the China Economic Review and has held significant roles in the Chinese Economists Society, including President. Currently, he is the Interim Chair of the School of Economics at Georgia Tech and has previously served as Associate Chair and Director of Information Technology. His research focuses on human capital, including its accumulation, measurement, and labor market effects. In addition to his administrative duties, Li teaches courses in econometrics, economic forecasting, labor economics, and microeconomics.
