Professor Dr. Håkan Eftring

Biography

Håkan Eftring is an Assistant Professor at Certec, the division of Rehabilitation Engineering in the Department of Design Sciences at Lund University, Sweden. His research interests encompass social assistive robotics, universal design, and user-centered design evaluation methods. With over 20 years of experience in European research projects, Eftring has contributed significantly to the field with his doctoral dissertation introducing the concept of useworthiness, which relates to users' values, needs, desires, and dreams in relation to technology. He teaches courses including Cognitive Ergonomics, Universal Design, Inclusive Teaching, Rehabilitation Engineering, and Digital Service Robotics, sharing insights aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. His expertise aims to improve the inclusivity and effectiveness of workplace environments for individuals with invisible disabilities.
