Biography

Hakim Hasan specializes in robotic fabrication and computational design research. In 2015, he completed his Bachelor of Architecture from Kennesaw State University and earned a master’s degree in Digital Fabrication Robotics from ETH Zurich. Leveraging his expertise, he developed innovative processes aggregating soft particles at Gramazio Kohler Research. This work led to his teaching stint at the Norman Foster Foundation Robotics Atelier. In 2018, Hakim became the lead researcher at the Building Technology Lab with a focus on architectural robotics. His pioneering work on the development of the Mobile Robotic Assistant for Architectural Design platform (MRAAD) has generated revolutionary discourse in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. Currently, his research investigates design opportunities for on-site robotic construction in collaboration with top industry-leading partners.
