Biography

Haleema Sadia holds a PhD in education from the University of Manchester, with a focus on the identities of female Pakistani students in UK higher education. Her academic trajectory reflects a unique blend of personal experience and professional expertise, particularly in overcoming cultural barriers to promote inclusive education practices. As a Lecturer in International Education at the University of Manchester, she has dedicated her career to enhancing the educational experiences of international postgraduate students. Her doctoral research has significantly contributed to the understanding of how these students transition to UK higher education, incorporating socio-cultural perspectives and innovative qualitative research methodologies, such as photo-elicitation and timeline concept mapping. Haleema co-leads the NVivo Training Resource Site, offering comprehensive training in qualitative data analysis, and is involved in several projects, including 'PGReturn', 'Career Scape', and 'Finscape', which emphasize student inclusion. With expertise tied to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, she actively contributes to discussions on international education and representation in academia.
