Professor Dr. Hamed Aslannejad

Biography

Hamed Aslannejad is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University's Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development. He is a distinguished Chemical Process Engineer with a Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees earned with Cum Laude honors. He has been involved in the renewable energies sector since 2008, working with various energy projects, including solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, and hydrogen. His research focuses on hydrogen production, storage, and utilization, emphasizing the critical role of hydrogen in the energy transition. Hamed leads multiple projects aimed at advancing green hydrogen technologies and has extensive hands-on experience with fuel cells and electrolyzers. In addition to experimental work, he employs computational modeling to simulate electrochemical systems and fluid flow in porous media, integrating machine learning techniques for enhanced performance. Hamed also serves as a Coordinator for Utrecht University's Hydrogen initiative and is a Scientific Leader for the HyUSE national project. His commitment to advancing renewable energy research is demonstrated through active collaboration with national and international research entities.
