Biography

Hamed Rahmani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at New York University (NYU) Tandon School of Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and his M.Sc. from Rice University. Before joining academia, Dr. Rahmani worked at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center as a research scientist and Qualcomm, Inc. as a senior RFIC design engineer, contributing to advanced 5G technology development. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Columbia University and had visiting lecturer roles at Princeton University, where he taught graduate courses in analog RF circuit design. Dr. Rahmani has received multiple honors, including the NSF CAREER Award (2025) and was recognized with the 2023 Paper Award from the Journal of Microwave. His research interests include integrated circuits and systems, intelligent sensing, and communication, focusing on applications in emerging technologies such as medical implants and IoT devices. He actively mentors students pursuing research in system-on-chip technologies and integrated circuit design.
