Biography

Hamed Sadeghian is an Associate Professor and Chair of Nano-Optomechatronics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His areas of expertise include mechatronics systems design, system architecture, optomechatronics, and nanometrology. His research interests focus on developing mechatronic systems that leverage the interaction between electromagnetic and mechanical waves at the nanoscale, with a particular emphasis on nonlinear dynamics. Noteworthy projects include the development of parallel AFM sub-nanometer and high-throughput metrology inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry, as well as advances in high-resolution optical microscopy and 3D nanotomography to identify nanostructures. Hamed's ambition is to create technologies that facilitate the exploration of the atom-scale world, leading to practical applications and collaborations with industrial partners. He has a proven track record of innovation, having co-founded Nearfield Instruments B.V. and contributed to over 60 patents and 70 technical papers. Hamed received his PhD with honors from Delft University of Technology in 2010 and has held various academic and industry positions, including serving as the Scientific Director and Principal Scientist for TNO's NOMI program. He is an active member of the editorial advisory board for the Sensors & Transducers Journal and has received several awards for his research.
