Dr. Hamid Mojibian

Biography

Hamid Mojibian, MD, is the director of cardiac CT/MR Imaging at Yale Medicine’s Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging. He leads a team of radiologists and cardiologists in performing cardiac imaging studies to detect heart problems such as coronary artery disease. In his role, Dr. Mojibian specializes in minimally invasive interventional cardiac procedures, including thrombectomy, which aims to remove pulmonary embolisms. This innovative procedure involves inserting a device into the veins of the pulmonary artery to eliminate blood clots that could obstruct normal airflow to the lungs, potentially causing right-sided heart failure. His dedication to patient care is evident as he helps patients leave dire situations in a better state. Dr. Mojibian also performs a variety of interventional procedures, including creating AV fistulas for dialysis using a safe, outpatient technique. He emphasizes the importance of teamwork with referring cardiologists and nephrologists to provide the highest quality of care.
