Dr. Hamid Zaman

Biography

Hamid Zaman is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta. He holds a PhD in Construction Engineering and Management from the same university, obtained in 2016, and has also earned a Master's degree in Transportation Engineering in 2010 and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2001 from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. His research interests include Urban Engineering and Operations, Infrastructure Management, Process Improvement, Decision Analysis, and Optimization, as well as Project Management. Zaman has held various roles in industry, including Director of Capital Planning for the Ministry of Health in Alberta and Manager of HR/PD at PCL Construction Inc. His work experience also includes significant positions with the City of Edmonton, where he managed drainage services and waste services. Throughout his career, Zaman has published numerous refereed journal articles and has been actively involved in presenting his research at various conferences. He is dedicated to advancing the field of engineering through both teaching and practical contributions to the industry.
