Biography

Hamza Zidan received his MD from the University of Jordan in Amman and completed his training in Anesthesia and Intensive Care at the Jordan University Hospital, where he received higher specialization in anesthesia and intensive care. He is a clinical fellow specializing in Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at Western University, where he completed postgraduate fellowships in Cardiac Anesthesia, Thoracic Vascular Anesthesia, and Advanced Clinical Anesthesia between 2019 and 2022. Currently, Zidan is the Director of the Perioperative Echocardiography Ultrasound (PEERS) Program at the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at Western University. He is also a co-investigator in the QORVATS Study, a randomized controlled trial comparing the Quality Recovery (QoR40) with intercostal block combinations in patients undergoing video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) procedures. Zidan has been involved in various research grants, including the AMOSO innovation fund for the QORVATS study, and has published works focusing on the evaluation of safety concerning pre-determined anti-diabetic drug regimen adjustments during Ramadan fasting.
